The conscious mind is your everyday awareness, the part of your mind that you are thinking with, the part of your mind that is actively observing and analyzing. It is the part of your mind that can think logically and make decisions. The conscious mind is also the part of your mind that makes up language and communication.
This means that the conscious mind can only focus on one thing at a time while the subconscious mind can store massive amounts of data at once — much like a computer hard drive.
The subconscious mind is the other part of our brain or what some call the unconscious mind. It is responsible for all processes not under conscious control such as breathing, digestion, heart rate, hormone production etc. It also controls our emotions and how we feel about things.
The conscious and subconscious work together to create balance in our lives. However, many times this balance gets disrupted causing us to have negative feelings about ourselves or others which can lead to depression or anxiety disorders.
